Aerial victories of Biggles and friends

This is an attempt to tabulate all the aerial victories of Biggles and his friends as recounted in the various stories. As is often the case in the chaos of aerial combat, it is sometimes not clear who shot down an aircraft. Ginger said of Bertie that he never bothered to keep count of his kills.

A confirmed kill is one where the text makes clear was definitely shot down. Probable applies to those where the text is vague. Either the adversary is seen flying away trailing smoke, or it was one where it was shot down but it was not clear by whom.

Biggles' documented aerial victories

In Chapter 1 of The Cruise of the Condor, it is stated that, in the course of WW1, Biggles was the "victor of thirty-five confirmed combats and many others unclaimed."

The Dawn Patrol			There's a Fokker Dr.I kill here but it is the same as the one in Knights of the Sky as this story is a heavily editied version of the Knights.

The Flying Spy		Me 109	He fired at another one but swerved as he himself was hit. Nonetheless, only 2 of 6 enemies fled from the scene. With 1 confirmed, and 1 each to Algy and Lakers, it suggests this 4th Me 109 was also hit.

The Case of the Black Gauntlet	Me 109		At a movie set. The Me-109 was piloted by Thea Hertz. She pursued and fired at Biggles who, being unarmed, had no choice but to lead her to crash into some high tension cables.

Algy's documented aerial victories

In chapter 1 of The Cruise of the Condor, it is stated that, in the course of WW1, Algy had "twenty victories signed up in his log book."
