The Islander and Biggles[]

The Islander was a good STOL aircraft and really could have appeared more often. It would have been a useful replacement for the Proctor for example. In the Semic graphic novel Hotet från rymden, Biggles used an Islander to take him and his team (Bebe Sunday had also sneaked on board) to Corsica for secret negotiations with a gang which was threatening to launch nuclear missiles at various countries. Later, Biggles followed the gang members who departed in their Dornier Do 28. Approaching the gang's secret base in Africa, the Islander was shot down by Focke-Wulf Fw 190 fighters operated by the gang.
