De terugkeer van Hawk (The Return of Hawk) was the 20th in the series of Biggles comic strips in the Flemish/Dutch language by the Belgian company "Studio Vandersteen". The comic strip probably first appeared in the daily newspaper De Standaard and was later collected into an album in June 1969. Oriënt Express was probably written by Karel Verschuere with artwork by Karel Biddeloo although only Vandersteen is credited and never the individual artists. Terugkeer would be the last album issued in the 1960s. The next, and final album, Het laatste konvooi would not be published until 1998.

Terugkeer is a totally original story and continues Biggles' saga with Helga Anderson whom he had met in the previous story Oriënt Express.

Synopsis[]

At the end of Oriënt Express, Biggles asked Helga to marry him. In this story, Biggles resigns from the Air Police as he seeks a quieter, married, life. Unfortunately for him, Hawk, the international crime syndicate, is back, and has not forgotten what he had done to them. They decide to get at him by kidnapping his fiancee.
