In The Case of the Old Masters, Frantham Old Hall was the residence of Baron Wolfner, a noted Hungarian art critic who was well-known in art circles. Located on a creek on the Suffolk coast, Baron Wolfner used the house as a base when organising the theft of valuable paintings from galleries. The stolen paintings would be taken to the house to await a marine aircraft which would land on the creek to carry them overseas.

Frantham Old Hall is a fictional location, as is the town of Frantham.
