In the derivative work, the Vandersteen comic strip Ontvoering in Thailand, the Green Dragon was the name of a powerful international gang and probably also the title of its leader. The Green Dragon took orders from the dictator Borsza and carried out operations with agents who were trained in Thai martial arts and travelled around in jetpacks. Biggles first met some members of the Green Dragon gang when they stole into the property of Sir Steffans, Dowfield Manor, in order to search for a document which Borsza wanted. Although surprised by Biggles, the gangsters knocked Biggles out and escaped on jetpacks to a yacht waiting offshore.
Later the gang kidnapped Dara, the wife of Sir Steffans, in order to force him to turn over the document. Biggles, however, managed to plant a homing beacon on one of the jetpacks used by the gang operatives and found the secret headquarters of the gang in the outskirts of Bangkok. Biggles penetrated into the gang lair and came face to face with the Green Dragon himself. By pretending he had a bomb and threatening to blow the whole gang up, Biggles forced the Green Dragon to release Dara. Accordingly an agent of Borsza brought Dara to Biggles and allowed them to leave. The gang operated by a strict code of not forgiving any mistakes--anyone who made a blunder was swiftly executed. This same rule applied to the gang itself. After leaving the gang headquarters with Biggles and Dara, the Borsza agent threw a gas grenade into the hideout, effectively wiping out the gang and its leader--Borsza did not tolerate mistakes either, he told Biggles.
