In the derivative Vandersteen comic strip Ontvoering in Thailand, Kham was a trusted servant of Sir Steffans. When Steffans' wife Dara was kidnapped by the Green Dragon gang, and Biggles needed to lie low in Bangkok to plan his investigations, Steffans suggested that he stay with Kham. The Green Dragon contacted Steffans through the dancer Bopha. Kham knew Bopha and knew that she had friends among the Thai boxing community. He took Biggles to a village outside Bangkok where Thai boxers maintained a training camp. There Biggles sighted Bopha when she arrived at the camp to meet her friend Than.
At the end of the story, Kham also arranged, at Biggles' request, a "farewell" committee of Thai men to give a beating to the agents of the dictator Borsza who had been responsible for the kidnapping.
