King was a French small format comic strip series published by Aredit from 1967 onwards. The first 13 issues of this series featured stories about Gimlet King and his friends. a few more issues were published after this before the series ended with stories about other characters. Most of the stories were based on the original Gimlet novels but two were actually adaptations of Biggles stories. The Gimlet stories were drawn by Roger Melliès with Michel Rondepierre. One more Gimlet story was also adapted into comic form by Brantome. This story, Rendez-vous en Extrême-Orient appeared in Commando in May 1968. Here, Gimlet is known as "Kinday"!
