In Biggles and the Leopards of Zinn, Lake Jumu was a lake in the Zinda region a little north of Lake Albert in Uganda. It was a long narrow piece of water, shaped like a crescent or a pair of buffalo horns, some four miles at the widest, and about 20 miles long with the ends petering out in extensive beds of reeds. The lake teemed with hippos, crocodiles and fish. At one end was a government rest house. Further up the length of the lake, hidden from view of the rest house by the bend of the lake, was a village where the Zinn tribe lived.

Lake Jumu is a fictional location. Given the directions stated in the text, the lake would have been in the West Nile district of present day Uganda, near the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo (then the Belgian Congo).
