Lotus

In Biggles Delivers the Goods, the Lotus was a launch of 50 tons with a shallow draught for river work. It had once belonged to a trading company but had been commandeered by the Japanese during the Second World War and used for patrols from Victoria Point along the Pakchan River. Biggles captured the Lotus from the Japanese troops during his attack at Shansie. The Lotus was subsequently used as a utility transport between Biggles' base at Elephant Island and Victoria Point on the mainland. It transported Biggles with a party of Li Chi's men to mount a boarding action to capture the Sumatran. Later, it transported a strong force of men to make an assault on Victoria Point in order to free Algy who had been captured by Admiral Tamashoa.
