Research NotesEdit

  • The Hastings was rather a large aircraft to attempt to land on an unprepared strip such as the beach at Kulang. The long range of the Hastings was not a consideration. Biggles was not far from suitable jumping off points such as Penang or Kuala Lumpur. He could have used a pair of Proctors or Austers.
  • Not for the first time Bertie once again demonstrates his quick reactions and marksmanship.
