In The Trick That Failed, Otto Fulvers was an oil millionaire and father of Diana Fulvers, who had planned to elope with the payroll thief Flight Lieutenant Rosten who was already married. Biggles' timely intervention and arrest of Rosten helped Diana avoid what could otherwise have been painful and tragic consequences. After Rosten had been tried and sentenced, Otto Fulvers and Diana visited Biggles to thank him for his help.
