The Case of the Lunatic at Large is the eighth short story in the fourth anthology of Biggles Air Police short stories entitled Biggles and the Pirate Treasure. The anthology was first published in July, 1954 by Brockhampton.
An R.A.F. pilot has stolen a Halifax bomber and threatens to drop its bombs over Farnborough unless his brother, who has been charged with embezzling mess funds, is released.
