The Case of the Man on a Spot is the first short story in the sixth anthology Biggles Air Police short stories entitled Biggles Presses On. The anthology was first published in January, 1958. "Man on a Spot" might have been published in a magazine earlier on but the details are unknown.

In 1966, the main plot elements of this story were loosely adapted and embellished and used in Ontvoering in Thailand (Kidnapping in Thailand), a Biggles comic strip published in the Dutch language by the Antwerp based Studio Vandersteen.
